About Master Tractor Ltd.

Master Tractor Ltd. has been in the Grading and Trucking Industry since 1987 providing a full range of services in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. Over the past 24 years, Master Tractor Ltd. has become known to be one of the best Finish Grading Services in the area along with providing exceptional Customer Service.

During this time, we have noticed the increased lack of use of Safety Gear used by construction personnel on the construction sites, and it has become a great concern for us.
MASTER TRACTOR brand products have been developed to bring Quality Engineered and Designed, safety gear and work apparel to those who work with in the Construction, Trucking, and Agricultural industries.

Building the Brand "MASTER TRACTOR™" and getting the word out on the importance of Safety on the jobsite site and within the Agriculture and Trucking Industries has been and continues to be educating, exciting, and rewarding.
As Master Tractor diversifies and grows our product lines, we are teaming up with retail establishments so that they can offer our premium safety gear and work apparel to their valued customers.

History of Master Tractor Ltd.

In 1987 my wife Sue and I started MASTER TRACTOR LTD, an owner operator tractor service company servicing the greater South San Francisco Bay Area.
When I wrote my original business plan 22 years ago I stated that the name MASTER TRACTOR had the potential of becoming a great brand name within the Agriculture, Construction and Trucking Industries. Those close to our operations refer to this as P-2 [Phase 2 of Master Tractor, Phase 1 being the grading company].

Fast-forward March 2009, after much research, reading and learning. It is time to test the strength of the brand within are target market. Not the best of times, but just as some of the greatest businesses in America were started during the recession of 1930’s and in small garages in Palo Alto, CA. By constantly learning, a great desire to succeed and shall it be ones destiny for success. We are ready to offer our premium products to our target industries. I know why it has been written that one should do something they know, but I would also add that if one has the desire to learn a new industry and to learn from the many mistakes that one will make on their journey to pursue ones dreams then I say go for it! For the worst that can happen is failure, but even worse than failure is to never have tried.
After dusting off my business plan (Which has only been read by 6 people) during my move after 28 years in Morgan Hill Ca. and raising and educating our 3 children we moved 4.7 miles south to San Martin. I told my self that if I was ever gong to execute P-2 that I needed to start working in that direction.

The last 3 years have been everything from fantastic to the pits and worse. As you can see it takes a lot of perseverance and learning (which I say a lot, for it has been what I have been doing and will continue to do… LEARNING that is.)

I have learned so much that if it were not for my file cabinets and computer (that I probably would of never learned to use, should I have not journeyed down this path) I would not have met the people that came upon my path. I often look at notes, business cards and other materials that I would of never of experienced if not for this journey. I‘m not only most grateful for these experiences, but also a better person as a result.

As I walked in the rain watching a local reservoir, Chesboro, fill up from recent rains where I met my wife in 1977, It dawned on me that building the brand MASTER TRACTOR was similar to the reservoir filling up. It takes millions of little rain drops to fill up the 7,945 acre feet reservoir and it has taken many bits and pieces of energy, time and financial resources to bring the brand to where it is today. As we grow with distribution and product lines we must do the right things. Just as the dam fills up, the Santa Clara Water District has the authority to use this precious commodity in the manner that it deems the best. This parable brings me to Master Tractors giving oath. An oath we have taken to support the Agriculture, Construction and Trucking Industries. For the average consumer does not realize the regulations, technology and just what it takes to bring a simple item like a gallon of milk to the local supermarket shelf! And just as these same industries were the foundation for making America the great nation it is today, they will once again lead the way out of these challenging times.

Lastly I can not signoff with out giving thanks to all who have supported, shared, and directed me on this journey, and there have been many. I will not mention names for you know who you are. As I have always said, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and may you also always be able to
PURSUE YOUR DREAMS!!

Sincerely,

THE LAST 14 MONTHS

It has been a very rewarding 14 months, since my last update on Phase 2 of MASTER TRACTOR.
This time has been spent in many different areas of brand development.  One of the major learning experiences I have had is, at this time, I really do not own a brand.  A highly respected person within the licensing trade brought this to my attention.  MASTER TRACTOR at this stage of development is “An Aspiring Brand”.  I cannot agree more with this description.  In addition, what I referred to as “learning” in the first letter I now call education.  The education I have been putting myself through has been most rewarding.

Phase 1  of MT, with now 23  years of experience allowed me to provide customers  with years and years of experience within the grading and construction trades .Many referring to me as an expert in this trade.  I will only state that I offer over 23 year’s experience in the trade!

With 4 years of education, reading, networking, attending conventions and so much more that I have educated myself in regards to this new trade relating to Phase 2 of MT.  I am nowhere close to considering myself an expert within this new trade consisting of manufacturing, marketing, retailing, and many other related areas that must be mastered in ones quest for transforming an “Aspiring Brand” in to a “Classic Brand”.

It was suggested that I read several books dealing with Licensing and Public Relations recently.  These readings combined with what I call “accidently on purpose” coming across the paths of some very talented professionals  who work within these supporting fields, has made the last 14 months worth the wait.

This added education, new business contacts, some upcoming trade show with several meetings in place with potential “Category Specialist” so to speak.  Who have the experience and networks in place to go out into the business battlefield to conquer the goals that I have set for this “Aspiring Brand”.  Has defiantly set the stage for a most interesting and rewarding experience in the near future.
In a nutshell, more education and networking for 14 months.  The return on this investment of time and education within these new areas is priceless for the “Aspiring Brand”.  It would be impossible to share this education in a letter for the information is a combination of conversations, readings, website articles, technology, emails; this list is never ending actually.

Even with these continued challenging times at hand, I can only feel very excited as I greet everyday for the rewards that come across my path, not only in this new trade I have chosen to pursue, but also the personal rewards that life has bestowed upon me.

Chesbro reservoir is at 98.4% capacity=7,821.4 acre feet, a great gift.  The economy is what it is, we just experienced a one-day 1000-point fluctuation in the stock market, I’m not an analyst on the market, but that is one trade that I do not want to even attempt to figure out!

I have many more people to thank who continue to support, share and direct me on this business journey of mine.  Again, I will not mention names for you know who you are.  Especially all the talented professionals that have come upon my business journey during” THE LAST 14 MONTHS”, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart and may you always be able to PURSUE YOUR DREAMS!!

Sincerely
