Building the Brand "MASTER TRACTOR™" and getting the word out on the importance of Safety on the jobsite has been and continues to be educating, exciting, and rewarding.
As Master Tractor diversifies and grows our product lines, we are teaming up with retail establishments so that they can offer our premium safety gear and work apparel to their valued customers.
History of Master Tractor
In 1987 my wife Sue and myself started MASTER TRACTOR LTD, an owner operator tractor service company servicing the greater South San Francisco Bay Area. When I wrote my original business plan 22 years ago I stated that the name MASTER TRACTOR had the potential of becoming a great brand name within the Agriculture, Construction and Trucking Industries. Those close to the operations refer to this as P-2 [Phase 2 of Master Tractor, Phase 1 being the grading company].
Fast-forward March 2009, after much research, reading and learning. It is time to test the strength of the brand within are target markets. Not the best of times, but just as some of the greatest business in America were started during the recession of 1930’s and in small garages in Palo Alto Ca. By constantly learning, a great desire to succeed and shall it be ones destiny for success. We are ready to offer our premium products to our target industries. I know why it has been written that one should do something they know, but I would also add that if one has the desire to learn a new industry and to learn from the many mistakes that one will make on their journey to pursue ones dreams then I say go for it! For the worst that can happen is failure, but even worse than failure is to never have tried.
After dusting off my business plan [Which has only been read by 6 persons] during my move after 28 years in Morgan Hill Ca. and raising and educating our 3 children we moved to San Martin [4.7 miles south] I told my self that if I was ever gong to execute P-2 that I needed to start working in that direction.
The last 3 years have been everything from fantastic to the pits and worse. As you can see it takes a lot of perseverance and learning [which I say a lot for that has been what I have been doing and will continue to do LEARNING].
I learned so much that if it were not for my file cabinets and computer [that I probably would of never learned to use, should I have not journeyed down this path]. That I would not of met the people that came upon my path, I often look at notes, business cards and other materials that I would of never of experienced if not for this journey, I ‘m not only most grateful for these experiences but also a better person as a result.
As I walked in the rain watching a local reservoir Chesboro fill up from recent rains where I met my wife in 1977. It dawned on me that building the brand MASTER TRACTOR was similar to the reservoir filling up, it takes millions of little rain drops to fill up the 7,945 acre feet reservoir, it has taken many bits and pieces of energy, time and financial resources to bring the brand to where it is today, as we grow with distribution and product lines, just as the dam fills up then the managing agency the Santa Clara Water District has the authority to use this precious commodity in the manner that it deems the best use of this water. This parable brings me to Master Tractors giving oath. In which we have taken an oath to support the Agriculture, Construction and Trucking Industries. For the average consumer does not realize the regulations, technology and just what it takes to bring a simple item like a gallon of milk to the local supermarket shelf! And just as these same industries were the foundation for making America the great nation it is today, they will once again lead the way out of these challenging times.
Lastly I can not signoff with out giving thanks to all who have supported, shared, and directed me on this journey, and their have been many, I will not mention names for you know who you are? As I have always said I thank you from the bottom of my heart and may you also always be able to PURSUE YOUR DREAMS!!
Sincerely,
Edward L. Honesto
